Position Description

A healthcare organization in New York City is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Mental Health team and provide general nursing care to adults in an inpatient psychiatric facility in Brooklyn.

About the Opportunity:

  • Shift: Nights
  • Schedule: 5 shifts per week and rotating weekends
  • Hours: 11:30pm to 8am
  • Patient Population: Adults
  • Setting: Inpatient Mental Health

Responsibilities:

  • Assessing the patients' physical needs
  • Administering medications
  • Checking and transcribing physicians' orders in a timely manner
  • Admitting, discharging, and transferring patients based on Physician orders
  • Assisting with procedures and physical exams
  • Conducting checks of treatment rooms for required equipment and ensuring its functionality
  • Recording appropriate progress notes and other data into the patient's medical record
  • Collecting vital signs, drawing blood, etc.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of Nursing experience in a Clinical setting
  • Active New York State Registered Nurse license
  • BLS certification
