Position Description

A Group Home in Hudson Valley is currently seeking a Registered Nurse to join their growing team.

About the Opportunity:

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Assignment Length: Ongoing (Contract to Hire)
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Hours: Flexible (8hrs per day)
  • Patient Population: Adults (IDD / Medically Fragile)
  • Patient Volume: 10

Responsibilities:

The RN will:

  • Provide documented oversight of medical appointments and medical issues
  • Coordinate and monitor health services as well as signs and symptoms of illness
  • Train and oversee all medical systems and document accurate completion of

Recommendations

  • Monitor care during medical hospitalizations
  • Provide initial and ongoing training in all delegated nursing tasks or functions
  • Have working knowledge of OPWDD med administration standards and participate in the tracking of the course and monitor for competence and currency of certification.
  • To be part of the residential nursing on call system which ensures RN availability 24/7 within 30 minutes in accordance with OPWDD guidelines
  • To participate in various committees at direction of nursing supervisor
  • Expected to have flexibility in meeting the needs of the department as they may change
  • Participate in our OPWDD diabetes train the trainer and continued annual update

Qualifications:

  • NYS Registered Nurse license
